Our Guiding Principles
Our vision is for Buffalo to become a city with abundant opportunity for the
underserved and marginalized to be healthy, educated and whole.
To demonstrate Jesus' unconditional love for the whole person
Jericho Road provides a medical home for refugee and low-income community members in Buffalo, facilitating wellness and self-sufficiency by addressing health, education and economic barriers.
We believe that our partnership with the community is an expression of
Jesus' love and joins the ongoing restorative work of God on earth.
Through our actions and words, we seek to model our service after Jesus' concern for the whole person.
Helping restore faith and hope, we strive to foster in ourselves and in our clients:
Dignity - We uphold a mutual respect of each person's intrinsic value
Sustainability - We build upon the assets and resources of the community, in order to facilitate self-sufficiency
Participation - We maintain constant dialog with our community to inform our services
Integrity - We seek to be honest, accountable and transparent in all practices and interactions
Sensitivity - We, in humility, esteem each person's culture and individuality
Holism - We engage numerous strategies to address the multi-faceted nature of poverty
Justice - We advocate for society's most vulnerable members in all forums
Compassion - We maintain a deep care for the hurting in our community
"No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." NLT
